Marketing through adverts is one thing, but sales is a whole other beast. The late Zig Ziglar, successful motivational teacher and trainer, explains in his book “Secrets of Closing the Sale”, that there’s no room for success for a salesman who’s taking the fast route. Believing in your product and wanting to help others is key to becoming a great salesman, a lesson which couldn’t be taught better than in this book.
Ziglar teaches how to close a sale in various scenarios, providing readers with humorous, interesting stories, cleverly tied with step by step actions and sales scripts for specific situations. However what really makes this book stand out is his emphasis on the concept of being an honest salesman, identifying a real need of the customer and providing them with a real solution, which is in turn rewarded with their help (money and potential loyalty). Zig Ziglar’s book is surely an essential read for those either in or entering sales (and even those not involved in sales but are in other areas of marketing will benefit).
